To whom it may concern,
A poet probably once said “journeys end in lovers meeting.” In a lot of stories that is true enough. That is when they ride off into the sunset. Any fool can ask what happens next, but there are stories, the really good ones, where it doesn’t end there. That is when the wind doesn’t just blow anymore, it sings. Maybe I do not completely understand what the poet meant, but I do not think poets write to be completely understood, so I don’t think too hard about it. I suppose stories only have to end because people who tell stories have deadlines. Otherwise they might just go on and on forever. Our story has a deadline too. For everything we will ever do. Endings are hard, but we shouldn’t think of one before we start. That would be a mistake. Instead, let’s start by riding beyond the sunset, where the waves kiss the sky, because now I’ve met you, and the story can really begin.
As always,
