To whom it may concern,

Everyone agrees that we will die, and that seems to be where the consensus ends. Christians believe that we must live a life of virtue, and to look for the resurrection of the dead to be as angels in the world to come. The ancient Greeks believed that life and death were places, divided by the river Styx, and we will be ferried across to the house of Hades. Schopenhauer thought that life is a debt to be called in at death, and that sleep is interest paid on the capital. Whatever that means. As for me, I think there are worse things than death. I don’t think there is anything else or final judgement, but I don’t mind if this is all we get, because being with you is heaven.

As Always,
